One Day in Las Vegas

Or, plan it yourself
One day on the Strip is enough to hit the highlights if you don't try to do everything. This itinerary assumes you're staying somewhere central and want a mix of free spectacle, real food, and one big night out.
Morning.Walk the Strip before it gets hot and crowded — the Bellagio Fountains run every 15–30 minutes starting at noon, so a morning walk is really about the people-watching and the architecture (Venetian's canals, Paris's Eiffel Tower replica, Caesars' Forum Shops). Grab a proper brunch rather than a hotel buffet — it'll set the tone for the day.
Afternoon.Pick one indoor and one outdoor thing so you're not fighting the desert heat all day. A foot massage or a proper spa afternoon resets you for the night. If you'd rather stay active, this is also a good window for something short and adrenaline-driven — SkyJump off The STRAT or an hour of skydiving both fit in an afternoon without derailing dinner plans.
Evening. Book dinner before you book anything else — the good rooms fill up. Vegas does steakhouses, fine dining, and everything in between; if you want a show built into dinner, look at the Shows page for something with an earlier curtain. After dinner, head downtown for the Fremont Street Experience — the Viva Vision canopy light show is free and runs several times a night, and it's a completely different scene from the Strip.
Night. If you've got the energy left, this is when to pick a nightclub or a quieter cigar & hookah lounge depending on how the day went. One honest piece of advice: don't try to close out a one-day trip at 4am — you'll only remember the headache, not the night.
